Elizabeth is skilled at using talk therapy, the art making process, and verbal and nonverbal communication to help people with their unique challenges. Equally adept at traditional verbal therapy approaches, Elizabeth embraces the power of the therapeutic relationship. She understands her clients from a person-centered approach while engaging a safe and respectful space where people can grow and heal. She uses individualized evidenced-based interventions, mindfulness practices, and behavioral, cognitive and psychodynamic therapies with her clients.
Elizabeth believes it to be an honor to walk with people through their difficult times. She understands many of the barriers to seeking mental health treatment, and respects people of all racial and cultural backgrounds. In addition to providing direct clinical services, she has experience providing clinical supervision to students studying art therapy and biblical counseling, teaches art classes to children, and has experience educating teenagers and their families about health and wellness. She enjoys gardening, thrift shopping, and cooking for her young children and foodie husband.
