Rachel Capel, LPC-S
Rachel Capel is a licensed professional counselor with a passion for whole-person integrated counseling. She has experience working with adults and youth both individually and in family and couples’ counseling. She is licensed in Virginia and Massachusetts. Rachel is also a licensed supervisor in the state of Virginia.
Rachel graduated with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She has experience working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, and disorders related to trauma as well as those experiencing difficulties related to relationships and life transitions.
Rachel is passionate about integrating all of life into the counseling experience acknowledging that spirituality, physical health, and relational stress all play a role in individual mental health. Rachel uses a range of techniques and theoretical approaches including Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Counseling. She has completed training in marriage counseling with Terry’s Real Relational Life Institute.
Above all else, Rachel strives to create a positive therapeutic relationship so that her clients can work through issues that may be preventing healing, inhibiting growth, or contributing to relational stress.
