Kelsie Utz, LCSW
Kelsie Utz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelors of Social Work from Cedarville University and a Masters in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Kelsie has years of experience working with adults and adolescents in community, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings and specialized training and experience working with addiction and substance use populations.
Kelsie believes in a holistic approach to counseling, honoring the inseparable connection between mental health, physical well-being, and spirituality. Kelsie uses mindfulness based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma informed counseling techniques to assist clients in making self-determined and meaningful change. Kelsie is passionate about integrating EMDR into her practice with clients to offer redemptive healing from trauma and difficult life experiences
Kelsie has a particular interest in trauma, anxiety, addiction, and body image and disordered eating. Kelsie’s approach is strengths based and person centered, and she approaches therapy as a collaborative journey to identify the path to coping and healing towards a fulfilling life, together.
Outside of the office, Kelsie loves to practice yoga, go for long runs through Richmond’s cutest neighborhoods, and spend time at home crafting or reading.
